Cobham is preparing to ramp up production at its new manufacturing facility in Suffolk.

Cobham held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the plant Monday. Sen. Jim Webb, U.S. Rep. J. Randy Forbes and Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling were among the dignitaries who attended.

The plant will manufacture composite engine components for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and parts for other military aircraft.

A skeleton crew of 18 is currently employed at the 73,500-square-foot facility. By 2014, it's expected to employ more than 200 workers.
